Introducing Our New Telehealth Home Detox Service

We have just launched our new in-home telehealth detox program! The success of our in-person program on the Gold Coast, alongside our mission to make addiction services more accessible, led us to expand our home detox service across Australia. We are delighted that we can now help more people safely detox at home, and we have already started helping people all over the country.

Who Is This Program For?

Our detox program is designed for individuals seeking a structured, medically-supported detox that they can safely do at home. Most people are eligible for a home detox. Our telehealth detox program is most suited to low to moderate risk patients and you will be carefully assessed by our medical team to ensure your safety. You must also have a support person who can remain with you at all times during the withdrawal phase. This is usually a family member or close friend who can keep a close eye on you during the detox.

How Our Telehealth Detox Program Works

As with our in-person service, our telehealth detox provides patients with step-by-step medical guidance from assessment to aftercare. We conduct all your appointments over video call and send you a detox pack with all the equipment and information you need.

Expert Support From Qualified Clinicians

All our clinicians have many years of experience in addiction medicine. The same healthcare professional will support you throughout your entire treatment with us so you receive quality, personalised care.

Personalised Treatment Plans

Everybody is different, which is why we tailor your detox and aftercare plan to suit your needs and long term goals.

Medication-Assisted Withdrawal Management

We carefully monitor your symptoms and prescribe withdrawal medications to keep you safe and comfortable. Your clinician will adjust your medications during your appointments to suit your individual needs. If appropriate, we can also prescribe anti-craving medications to support your recovery journey post-detox.

Ongoing Aftercare for Long-Term Recovery

We work with you to create an aftercare plan so you can take control of your own recovery. Your existing healthcare team are kept updated throughout your treatment and we can link you in with services to continue your rehabilitation. We also provide 12-months of support to help you stay sober and prevent relapse. You can contact us at any time, and we schedule regular check-in appointments to help keep you on track and achieve your long term goals.

Why Choose A Home Detox?

There are many reasons why people opt for a medically supervised home detox over an in-patient facility. Alcohol Use Disorders are one of the most stigmatised conditions in Australia, which prevents people from seeking help.1 Staying at home helps to break down these barriers to seeking addiction treatment, making you feel more at ease and the process a lot less daunting.

When withdrawing at home you have more freedom and flexibility because you are not confined to in-patient rules and regulations. You can maintain many aspects of your daily life whilst undergoing treatment, and only need to take minimal time off work. This also helps to maintain your privacy as you do not need to explain long periods of absence from work, family or friends.

A telehealth detox is much more cost effective than a private rehabilitation centre. It costs less than $10 per day over 12 months. This is usually significantly less than what our patients typically spend on alcohol or drugs per day, meaning you’ll start saving money shortly after you complete your detox.

Long waitlists are also a barrier to seeking help for addiction. With a home detox, you do not need to wait for a bed to become available. You can safely withdraw at home with the close support and guidance of our medical team.
