Cannabis Withdrawal Symptoms
How we minimise your symptoms and prevent relapse
Cannabis withdrawal symptoms include restlessness, low mood, sleep issues and gastrointestinal discomfort. These symptoms are a barrier to giving up cannabis and are strongly associated with relapse. During the detox phase, we use medications to ease your withdrawal symptoms to make you as comfortable as possible. We also provide 12-months of ongoing support to help prevent relapse and put you back in control of your health and wellbeing.
How The Cannabis Home Detox Works
We guide you through our three step process so we are with you at every step
Stage 1. Home Assessment
Our doctor conducts a full medical assessment to ensure your safety and eligibility for a home detox. We provide pathology requests; create a personalised withdrawal plan; prepare you for the detox; and educate you and your support person on the withdrawal process. We also keep your existing healthcare team updated every step of the way.
Stage 2. Home Detox
The home detox takes around seven days and is usually scheduled in a week after your initial assessment. Each morning you will have an appointment with our doctor who will adjust your withdrawal medications and manage any cravings to make you as comfortable as possible. We also provide 24/7 medical support during this time so you or your support person can check-in at any time. You must have a support person with you at all times during this phase of treatment. This can be multiple people throughout the week, but someone must be with you at all times to ensure your safety.
Stage 3. Aftercare
We understand that your recovery doesn’t end once the withdrawal process is complete. That’s why we provide you with an aftercare plan that is tailored to your individual needs, with regular follow-up appointments over the next 12 months.
